Venue: World Trading Center Stockholm, Casablanca

On May 20-21, 2024, Korea-Nordics Science & Technology Cooperation Center(KNTEC) hosted the 13th LEDARE Workshop. This event, the 3rd Energy LEDARE Workshop, focused on perovskite-based solar cells and brought together 18 leading researchers in the field for presentations and discussions.

From Korea, notable participants included Professor Nam-Gyu Park from Sungkyunkwan Univ. (SKKU) and Professor Ki-Tae Nam from Seoul National Univ. (SNU), along with 7 other professors from 5 universities.

Representing Sweden and Europe were 9 esteemed researchers, such as Vice Chancellor Anders Hagfeldt from Uppsala Univ. (UU), Professor Tönu Pullerits from Lund Univ. (LU), Professor Eva Olsson from Chalmers Univ. of Technology, and Professor Xiaodong Zou from Stockholms Univ. (SU) among others from 8 universities.

The 3rd Energy LEDARE Workshop continued the progress made in the 1st and 2nd workshops, focusing on deepening networks and advancing projects aimed at accelerating the commercialization of perovskite solar cells.

Perovskite solar cells, first applied to solid-state devices by Professor Nam-Gyu Park’s team at SKKU in 2012, have recently achieved power conversion efficiencies (PCE) exceeding 26%, bringing them closer to commercialization. During the workshop, participants discussed various methodologies to further enhance PCE and shared insights on topics such as “Optical property analysis of materials”, “New perovskite material crystal structure analysis”, “Au nanoparticle analysis using Raman techniques”, and “Tandem solar cell-based electrocatalyst research”.

The Energy LEDARE Workshop has been recognized as a valuable opportunity to contribute to sustainable energy and society, establishing a solid foundation for continued research collaboration between Korea, Sweden, and the Nordic countries.
