From October 16-18, 2024, the Korea-Nordic Science & Technology Cooperation Center (KNTEC) hosted the 6th Korea-Nordic Strategic Seminar for Research Collaboration, which opened with welcoming remarks from KNTEC Director Heewoong Park. The event centered on the theme “Cellular responses in complex environments.”
The seminar featured four specialized sessions—Stem Cells and Organoids, Metabolism and Physiology, Tissue Biology, and Neurobiology. Participants shared recent research achievements, identified key challenges, and actively discussed potential solutions and future collaborations.
Six Korean speakers, including Professors Jiwon Shim from 한양대학교 and Hanseul Yang from 한국과학기술원(KAIST), participated in the seminar. On the Nordic side, nine researchers, including Professors Ville Hietakangas and Jette Lengefeld from the University of Helsinki, represented institutions such as the University of Helsinki, Karolinska Institutet, Universitetet i Oslo (UiO), and Turun yliopisto – University of Turku.
We hope this seminar has fostered new research partnerships and sparked innovative ideas through the exchange of knowledge in these important fields.
