스웨덴 기초의학 연구 질적 성과 분석

본 보고서는 스웨덴연구위원회(Swedish Research Council)가 기초의학 분야의 연구 경쟁력과 사회적 파급효과를 종합적으로 평가하기 위해 수행한 성과 영향 평가를 담고 있습니다. 2024년부터 2025년 초까지 진행되는 이번 평가는 스웨덴이 세계적 연구 강국으로서의 위상을 유지하고자 하는 국가 정책의 일환으로, 기초의학 분야의 질적 수준, 생산성, 학문적·사회적 영향 등을 정량·정성 지표를 통해 분석합니다. 평가 대상은 Karolinska Institutet를 포함한 7개 주요 의과대학 보유 고등교육기관으로, 이들 기관은 스웨덴 전체 기초의학 논문의 77%를 생산한 중심 연구기관들입니다. 총 403건의 탁월 논문과 57건의 사회적 영향 사례를 기반으로, 국제 평가위원단과 외부 심사위원들이 Peer 리뷰, 서지분석, 통계 및 사례 분석 등 다양한 방법을 통해 종합적으로 평가를 수행했습니다.

This report presents the results of an impact assessment conducted by the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet) to comprehensively evaluate the research competitiveness and societal impact of the basic medical sciences in Sweden. The assessment, carried out from 2024 to early 2025, is part of a national policy initiative aimed at maintaining Sweden’s position as a leading global research nation. It analyzes the quality, productivity, academic and societal influence of research in the basic medical sciences using both quantitative and qualitative indicators. The evaluation targets seven major higher education institutions with medical faculties, including Karolinska Institutet, which collectively account for 77% of all Swedish basic medical science publications indexed in the Web of Science between 2018 and 2022. A total of 403 high-impact publications and 57 cases of societal impact were assessed through a comprehensive approach involving peer reviews, bibliometric analyses, statistical data, and case-based evaluations by an international panel of 15 experts and 48 external reviewers.
