On May 21, 2025, KNTEC hosted a seminar at our Stockholm office, bringing together Korean researchers to explore the future of Korea–EU scientific cooperation.
We were pleased to welcome two guest speakers from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom of Belgium and the European Union:
Jung Jaewuk, Counsellor for Science and Technology, and Yang Kisung, Counsellor for Intellectual Property Affairs.
The speakers discussed key developments in the EU’s R&D policy, particularly focusing on AI and data-related legislation, as well as the current status of Horizon Europe. They also provided an overview of the European patent system, highlighting recent trends and key takeaways for researchers.
The seminar was attended by representatives from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Sweden and Korean researchers based in Sweden. The session concluded with an open and engaging Q&A, encouraging lively discussion and idea-sharing.
This event highlighted growing opportunities for Korea–EU collaboration, and KNTEC will continue to support Korean researchers by creating more opportunities for meaningful international cooperation.
