Venue: KNTEC conference Room

Topic: Multifunctional Halide Perovskite Semiconductors

On June 23–24, 2025, the Korea-Nordic Science & Technology Cooperation Center (KNTEC), under the leadership of Director Heewoong Park, hosted the Korea-Nordic LINC Workshop: Leaders Workshop for Research and Innovation Collaboration at the KNTEC Conference Room in Stockholm.

The workshop officially began with welcoming remarks from the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sweden, followed by an insightful presentation by Dr. Susanne Frykman, Senior Research Officer at the Swedish Research Council, who introduced key opportunities for EU-level collaboration in science and technology.

The event brought together researchers from premier universities and research institutes in Korea and Northern Europe, facilitating meaningful academic exchange and joint exploration of perovskite-related innovations. The theme of the workshop—“Multifunctional Halide Perovskite Semiconductors”—served as a springboard for in-depth discussions on emerging applications in solar cells, optoelectronics, neuromorphic computing, and indoor photovoltaics.

Notable participants who delivered presentations included Professor Sang Il Seok (Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology), Professor Ho Won Jang (Seoul National University), Professor Kyoung Jin Choi (Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology), Professor Michael Odelius (Stockholm University), and Professor Tomas Edvinsson (Uppsala University), among other esteemed researchers.

The workshop served as a valuable platform to explore synergies between experimental and theoretical approaches, and between material innovation and scalable device engineering. Dynamic exchanges among participants fostered new ideas and opened pathways for potential joint research.

KNTEC plans to continue facilitating dialogue and collaboration between Korea and the Nordic countries through similar initiatives.
