Topic: Addressing Climate Change for Sustainability

The Korea-Nordics Science and Technology Cooperation Center (KNTEC) successfully hosted the “1st KNTEC-KSSEA Joint Conference” in collaboration with the Korean-Scandinavian Scientists and Engineers Association (KSSEA) on October 26, 2024. This event was designed to strengthen connections and networking with Korean scientists and engineers active in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway, while also enhancing the status of Korean researchers and promoting Korea-Nordics collaboration.

The theme of the conference was “Addressing Climate Change for Sustainability,” featuring six speakers who presented on topics such as understanding climate change and fisheries, materials discovery for accelerating the green transition, Gen-IV nuclear reactors, and fields related to carbon capture and ESG.

Through this conference, participants gained insights into Nordic policies and trends regarding climate change response and energy, contributing to future Korea-Nordics collaboration opportunities in these areas.
