Date: August 11 – 13, 2025
Venue: Aarhus University, Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Stem Cell Medicine (reNEW)
Topic: Epigenetic Regulation in Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease
The 23rd Korea-Nordic LINC Workshop was held last week in Copenhagen and Aarhus, Denmark. The workshop was organized under the theme “Epigenetic Regulation in Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease.”
As part of the program in Copenhagen, Korean participants visited the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Stem Cell Medicine (reNEW), where they engaged in scientific exchange and discussed opportunities for future collaboration.
The main academic sessions were held at Aarhus University, bringing together researchers from Korea and Denmark. Presentations addressed recent advances in cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, and neurodegenerative disease research, with a focus on immune and metabolic regulation, lipid-driven mechanisms, neurovascular coupling, and epigenetic approaches to biomarker discovery and therapeutic development.
Distinguished speakers included Professor Goo Taeg Oh (Ewha Womans University), Professor Tae-Young Roh (Ewha Womans University), Professor Kyung-Min Noh (Aarhus University), and Professor Robert A. Fenton (Aarhus University), among others. The program also featured a special introduction by Professor Thomas G. Jensen, Head of the Department of Biomedicine at Aarhus University.
The workshop served as a valuable platform for strengthening research networks between Korea and Denmark, fostering new ideas, and laying the groundwork for future collaborative initiatives.
